2020
2020 - for many people on the planet this year has been challenging (mildly put). Uncertainty however is “a constant” in our lives any year, any day. “Will life go back to normal and when?” “Normal never was.” is what we hear often. I thought to share what I have, over years, found profoundly helpful in becoming more comfortable with uncertainty and also more present. I started noticing subtle changes both personally and professionally as I held awareness of what it feels like to be present with the flow of life. I worked as a frontline trauma clinician for many years where uncertainty is a constant certainty. I’ll share a small extract from the incredible @anipemachodron writings: “As human beings we share a tendency to scramble for certainty whenever we realize that everything around us is in flux. In difficult times the stress of trying to find solid ground—something predictable to stand on—seems to intensify. But in truth, the very nature of our existence is forever in flux. Everything keeps changing, whether we’re aware of it or not. How can we relax and have a genuine, passionate relationship with the fundamental uncertainty, the groundlessness of being human?” @anipemachodron also says: “Everything in our lives has the potential to wake us up or to put us to sleep. Allowing it to awaken is up to us.” For me personally being committed to daily meditation practice works miracles, so does using EFT, HeartMath❤️ system and walks in nature. Client work inspires me, spending time with my loved ones (& my pup Luna) warms my heart. I’m excited to read in comments bellow what helps you to be more present in your life, especially when faced with uncertainty
