Hay-fever and emotions

Spring is on the doorstep in Australia, and as nice as it is, it can onset the hayfever symptoms in some of us. It caught me a bit by surprise as I have truly been well, relaxed and mostly in tune with my body, having a good work-life balance ratio. Today, trying to stay on top of the symptoms, I looked again into some possible metaphysical causes which could be behind developing allergies, making them worse. Firstly, Louise Hay would ask a question: “Who or what are you allergic too?” Often it is the internal factors (rather than just environmental), our body’s way of giving us signals that there is something inside of us needing healing. From metaphysical perspective our body might be telling us a few things: allergies can be an indication of feeling annoyed, aggravated by or intolerant of other people, blaming others or circumstances for your situation; being overly critical of yourself and others; remembering old hurts, giving away your power, not knowing how to create boundaries, being overly-sensitive. You might have experienced considerable stress in childhood and might have had parents who often held opposing views in a number of areas which might have caused you to feel internal conflict. Hayfever could indicate suppression of feelings, emotional congestion, fear of calendar, frustration, anger and guilt. Lisa Bourbeau says it can indicate the reawakening of the old wound, a difficult experience. The release of the pollen can subconsciously trigger the memory of it. If you are like me and at times suffer from allergies, can you relate to any of the above? I certainly can find a few things named resonating with me. I’m personally very thankful for the healing power of the fresh sea air (me sitting by the ocean for hours breathing easier made both my Pup Luna & I very happy), meditation; I’m thankful for the love of my family, and beautiful self-help techniques such as Emotional Freedom Techniques to support myself through this minor annoying outbreak, here to teach me of true forgiveness. As per Louise Hay’s affirmation for allergies relief goes: “I’m one with all of life. I’m safe at all times.
